My Resume

I use this company for my web hosting, lots of disk space and CHEAP!

Welcome to my web page, and thanks for visiting.  The purpose of this website is to provide information for my Regis students, as well as updates and pictures for family and friends.

My name is Brad Blake, and I have been living in Fort Collins, CO, since 1991.  I attended Colorado State University, so I am a huge Ram fan

I received my Bachelor Degree in Biology, with a minor in Spanish, from CSU in December '95.  After graduating from CSU, I quickly realized that I was not going to find a satisfying career with that diploma.  I then decided to pursue a Masters Degree in Computer Information Systems from Regis University with an emphasis in database technologies.   Acquiring that degree is what allowed me to get where I am today.

Currently, I work in Boulder, CO for a pharmaceutical company, Pharmion Corporation. I am their Database Administrator, tasked with managing all of the database systems. This includes Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 databases. Pharmion is a worldwide company, so most of our systems require 24x7 support.

I also stay busy working for Regis University, teaching database classes for the Graduate program. I've found teaching the material is a great way to reinforce and build on what I learned as a student, and what I do in my job day-to-day.

Before Pharmion, I worked in downtown Denver for a company called InfoNow Corporation, where I had similar responsibilities. I worked there for about 5 years. At InfoNow, I worked with a couple other DBA's to administer approximately 22 Oracle databases, from version 7.3 up through 9.2.

Prior to that I worked for Sandmonk Corporation, a database consulting company.  There I focused on developing data warehousing applications, using Oracle and Sybase.
